The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a clear impact on the supply chains of all industrial sectors in the world. There are different critical barriers that affected the Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the healthcare sector during the pandemic period. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the critical barriers of the SCM that arose due to the COVID-19 effect on the healthcare sector in Jordan using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach and determine the relationship between these barriers using Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) approach. Al-Abdali Hospital and King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) were chosen as a set of alternatives in the AHP approach. From the review of the literature and healthcare experts’ opinions; five main criteria of critical SCM barriers were obtained as follows: Financial Barriers, Legal Barriers, Environmental Barriers, Management Barriers, and Technological Barriers, where each main criterion was further sub-divided into many sub-criterion. An AHP questionnaire was constructed and answered by twelve experts from the healthcare sector from hospitals, medical equipment companies, and pharmaceutical companies. This questionnaire has been analyzed by a spreadsheet and by “Super Decisions” software. The AHP analysis results showed that for the main criteria, the Legal Barriers are the most critical barrier that affected the SCM in the healthcare sector due to COVID-19 with the highest priority, followed by the Financial Barriers, where the least priority is for the Technological Barriers. For the sub-criteria; Online Payments and Transfer had the highest priority and Insufficient Funds had the least priority. Al- Abdali Hospital supply chain management system was more affected by the barriers due COVID-19 according to the healthcare experts and the selection criteria. The DEMATEL approach was applied to determine the relationship between these barriers. Ten experts from the healthcare sector were asked to view the degree of direct influence between two factors by answering DEMATEL matrix. The DEMATEL result showed that the lockdown was the most important perspective that influenced the remaining perspectives. Also the interrelationship between the factors was obtained. A strategic solution on how to deal with any future crises to reduce the effect of SCM barriers and bring sustainability to the SC has been provided.

English is the top global, international and multicultural language in the world. It is the language of communication and education in various fields. One of those fields is Medicine, and the increasing demand for this specialization leads to new studies for investigating the medical students' necessities around the world. This study aimed at investigating the specific English language needs of medical students at Hebron University (HU). Implementing Hutchinson and Waters' (1987) approach for needs analysis, this study analyzed the medical students and the instructors' perceptions toward the necessity of English language skills and sub-skills for studying medicine at HU, the learners' perceptions toward their proficiency of English language skills, the students' perceptions toward the English language sub-skills they wish to get training in, and the students and the teachers' perceptions toward the provided courses at the faculty of medicine. Concerning the data collection, a quantitative method exemplified by students and instructors' questionnaires and a qualitative method represented by a semi-structured interview with the teachers of the provided courses (Good Practice Student's Book: Communication Skills in English for the Medical Practitioner and Unlock Level 4 Reading, Writing & Critical Thinking)were used. The primary results have shown that both the instructors and the students believe that all English language skills are significant and fundamental for medical students giving priority to speaking and communication regarding students' perceptions, while the instructors have chosen reading and writing as the most important skills for studying medicine at HU. Also, the medical students have evaluated their level of proficiency in English language skills as high in reading skills and of an average rank in listening, grammar, vocabulary, speaking and writing. Medical students have expressed their needs of getting training in various suggested English language sub-skills as shown later in the paper .Finally, the findings have shown that the majority of the instructors and students have presented positive perceptions and attitudes toward the usefulness of the offered courses with some modifications to fulfill the students' wants and necessities.

The study aimed to identify the reality of human resources in sports activity departments in Jordanian universities, and to identify the degree of performance, effectiveness of them as well. The researcher used the descriptive approach due to its suitability with the nature of the study. The study sample consisted of (79) male and female employees who are working in sports activity departments in the Jordanian public universities. They were chosen on purpose. A questionnaire consisting of two parts was constructed: the first part contains demographic information about the sample members. The second part consists of two measures: the first one measures the reality of human resources and the other measures the effectiveness of performance in the departments of sports activity. The results showed that human resources in sports activity departments are a necessary focus on which several functions depend, the highest of which was planning and the lowest incentives, and there is a shortage in the numbers of employees compared to the needs of the sports activity departments, especially the female supervisors. The results also showed a positive relationship between the reality of human resources and the effectiveness of performance in the departments of sports activity in public universities. In addition, there is a common vision of the expected performance between the Department of Sports Activity and its employees, the interest of the Department of Sports Activity at the University of Mu'ta in human resource management and performance effectiveness was more than other universities, as well as the field of incentives and evaluation had a noticeable impact on the effectiveness of performance in the activity departments. The researcher recommended the necessity of reconsidering the incentives, evaluation policies, development and qualification of human resources, and providing all necessary for sports activity departments in universities to achieve the desired goals. Philipp Meisen introduces a model, a query language, and a similarity measure enabling users to analyze time interval data. The introduced tools are combined to design and realize an information system. The presented system is capable of performing analytical tasks (avoiding any type of summarizability problems), providing insights, and visualizing results processing millions of intervals within milliseconds using an intuitive SQL-based query language. The heart of the solution is based on several bitmap-based indexes, which enable the system to handle huge amounts of time interval data.
